ACCOUNTS MANAGER

Dolmen Hotel is currently seeking to recruit an Accounts Manager.


Reporting to the Financial Controller, the selected candidate will assist in the financial reporting, management and control of the hotel.

Main responsibilities include: 

  • Prepare and review management accounts.
  • Assist in payroll management.
  • Examine financial reports and data to check for discrepancies.
  • Perform operational analysis to detect any deviation from budgets.
  • Prepare VAT & ECO tax returns and other reports related to government agencies.
  • Compile insurance claims and follow-up their successful resolution.
  • Develop and monitor internal control procedures.
  • Prepare reports to management and regulatory bodies as and when required.
  • Foster relationships with other departments regarding financial matters.
  • Train and supervise other finance team members.
  • Prepare documentation to support the internal and external auditors.


Requirements:

  • A qualified Accountant or in the final stage with 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Well versed in MS Office, in particular Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver accurate and timely information consistently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English.
  • Reliable, organised and highly confidential.
  • Leadership and team building abilities.
  • Keep abreast with financial management and reporting best practices.

BREAKFAST COOK

Dolmen Hotel is seeking to recruit a Breakfast Cook to assume responsibility for preparing a high quality breakfast, oversee the breakfast service and order food supplies.  

The Breakfast Cook will join a professional team responsible for food preparation within the hotel’s outlets.  


Other duties include:

  • Ensuring a high standard of food hygiene;
  • Serving fresh food and controlling food waste;
  • Managing the breakfast team;
  • Giving attention to detail for presentation, taste and quality;
  • Delivering an exceptional service to customers.


Position requirements:

  • Certification from ITS on Food Preparation & Production or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 1 year working experience in a similar role.
  • A passion for delivering high quality service to customers.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written;

CHEFS

We are seeking to recruit passionate A la Carte Chefs with innovative ideas and enthusiasm for food creations to join our dynamic team on a full-time or part-time basis in the following positions.

  • Demi Chef de Partie
  • Chef de Partie


Reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, the selected candidates will be required to work in the various food outlets and operations throughout the Hotel. The selected candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of A la Carte outlet including the monitoring of stock rotation, food cost, preparation and plating of the menus. Food preparation and production procedures have to be adhered to in accordance to our HACCP manual, including temperature control and cleaning schedule sheets.

To qualify for these roles, candidates should:

  • Have worked for at least one year within a Four / Five-Star Hotel or Restaurant/Outlet in a similar role;
  • Possess a positive working attitude as a team player and able to work also on own initiative;
  • Have an independent mind-set, demonstrate creativity and attention to detail;
  • Be able to coach and mentor junior chefs;
  • Communicate fluently both verbally and in writing.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE PERSON

Dolmen Hotel is looking to recruit a General Maintenance Person to join a dynamic team at the Maintenance Department on a full-time basis.

The General Maintenance person will be focused primarily on the plant room and reverse osmosis areas within the hotel and will assist in other areas as required.

Following health and safety practices at all times, the selected candidate will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of installations and equipment, ensuring that they are maintained in good working order.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following characteristics:

  • A recognized qualification issued by MCAST or equivalent institution in the mechanical or electrical field.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and/or Maltese. 


Previous experience in a similar role will be considered an asset.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Dolmen Hotel is seeking to fill the position of Human Resources Manager on a full-time basis.

Overall duties include:

  • Designing, developing and implementing the overall HR strategy.
  • Overseeing employees' recruitment, training, performance appraisals and remuneration plans.
  • Liaising with governmental agencies regarding employees' work permits, engagement and termination forms, funding for training.
  • Drafting job descriptions, recruitment adverts, employment contracts and other agreements relating to HR matters.
  • Participating in the implementation of business processes that have an impact on employees ensuring adherence to legal and contractual obligations.
  • Acting as a point of reference to other Managers on the day-to-day HR issues.
  • Overseeing grievance procedures and drafting disciplinary letters as necessary.
  • Maintaining up-to-date employee records and identifying HR reporting needs.
  • Managing GDPR requirements relating to the HR function.
  • Organising staff activities and team-building events.


Education and Experience:

  • Diploma in Human Resources or other related areas.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. 
  • Solid knowledge of employment legislation and industrial relations.
  • Good command of the Maltese and English languages.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Adept at building relationships across all levels of the company and business associates.

NIGHT MANAGER ASSISTANT

Dolmen Hotel is looking to recruit an Assistant Night Manager who will be responsible to assist in the direction of the hotel’s operations during the night shift.

The selected candidate will form part of the Front Office team, reporting to the Front Office Manager.

The main duties for the Assistant Night Manager include the following:

  • Manage the night shift ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments.
  • Welcome the hotel’s guests in a friendly and helpful manner and deal with check ins and check outs.
  • Check accommodations, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly.
  • Maintain a professional and high quality service at all times.
  • Act as manager on duty for the hotel dealing with complaints, problem solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise.
  • Conduct briefings for all staff during night shift.
  • Contribute to the accurate completion of the daily night audit in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that the public areas are kept clean and tidy.


We are looking for candidates with the following characteristics:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in similar role, preferably in a four or five star hotel.
  • Able to communicate in English, writing and speaking. Fluency in other languages, such as French or German, will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent customer service skills, a professional approach and strong decision making skills.
  • Computer Knowledge and experience in MS office programs.

PASTRY COMMIS CHEF

A vacancy for the position of Pastry Commis Chef has arisen within Dolmen Hotel.

Reporting to the Pastry Chef, the selected candidate will be involved in the day to day preparation of desserts as well as decorating and baking goods according to existing menus and daily business.

Other duties include:

  • Reducing wastage.
  • Maintaining expected levels of standards and quality of service.
  • Keeping the pastry and work areas clean and organized.


Required experience and skills:

  • Previous experience in a pastry kitchen of a four or five star hotel.
  • A certification from ITS on Food Preparation & Production or equivalent.
  • A valid food handling certification from a recognized institution.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace and HAACP measures used throughout the Kitchen and Pastry
  • Attention to detail and good personal standards
  • A good knowledge of trends of pastry services within hotels and restaurants
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Maltese and English.
