Accounts Clerk

Dolmen Hotel is looking for an Accounts Clerk to join a dynamic team on a full-time basis.
The selected candidate will assume responsibility for a variety of general office and accounting duties.

Main duties include:

  • Processing food & beverage purchase orders, good received notes and invoices.
  • Reconciling creditor statements and issuing payments.
  • Assisting the food & beverage Cost Controller in data entry and stocktaking.


In order to be shortlisted for this role, candidates should possess the following: 

  • An ‘O’ level qualification in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Be self-motivated.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision.

Bar and Waiting staff

Dolmen Hotel is currently looking to employ Bar and Waiting staff  to join the Food and Beverage team on a full-time basis.

Reporting into the F&B supervisors, the selected candidates will be responsible to serve the hotel’s guests, ensuring a positive experience at all times.

Essential duties include:

  • Prepare beverages as requested by guests.
  • Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks.
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
  • Keep the allocated area and/or bar area clean at all times.


Candidates must possess the following attributes to be shortlisted:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • A passion for delivering excellent service to customers.
  • Ability to listen and express oneself clearly, in order to communicate effectively with guests.
  • Fluency in English is a must, while knowledge of another language will be considered an advantage.
  • A friendly personality, an approachable nature and a professional approach.
  • A flexible attitude and readiness to work shift duties, especially weekends and/or public holidays.


A formal qualification from ITS or equivalent would be considered an asset.

Chefs

We are seeking to recruit passionate Chefs with innovative ideas and enthusiasm for food creations to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis in the following positions.

Reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, the selected candidates will be required to work in the various food outlets and operations throughout the Hotel.

Food preparation and production procedures have to adhere to our food quality standards. All food hygiene policies are to be followed and an open eye for wastages and food cost is required at all times.

To qualify for these roles, candidates should:

  •  have worked for at least one year within a Four / Five-Star Hotel or Restaurant/Outlet in a similar role.
  • have experience in either one of the following: Larder, Hot Section, A la Carte or Banqueting.
  • have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • possess a positive working attitude, an independent mind-set and attention to detail.
  • demonstrate creativity and be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • possess a ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • be ready to work flexible hours.

Kitchen Stewards

Full-time and Part-time vacancies have arisen for Kitchen Stewards at the Dolmen Hotel.

Reporting into the daily shift leader, Sous chef and Head chef, the selected candidates will form part of a team of chefs and other kitchen stewards working together.

The incumbents will be expected to maintain the kitchens’ standard of cleanliness and tidiness by following daily cleaning schedules and best work practices within all areas of kitchens and food production. Training and mentoring will be provided on an ongoing basis.

To qualify for these roles, candidates should have:

  • A ‘Can do’ attitude and a customer focused approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a team.
  • A food handling license certificate.
  • Readiness to work flexible hours.

Pastry Commis Chef

A vacancy for the position of Pastry Commis Chef has arisen within Dolmen Hotel on a part time basis.  

Reporting to the Pastry Chef, the selected candidate will be involved in the day to day preparation of desserts, as well as decorating and baking goods according to existing menus and daily business.

Other duties include:
-Reducing wastage.
-Maintaining expected levels of standards and quality of service.
-Keeping the pastry and work areas clean and organized.


Required knowledge, experience and skills: 

  • Previous experience in a pastry kitchen of a four or five star hotel.
  • A valid food handling certification from a recognized institution.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace and HAACP measures used throughout the Kitchen and Pastry.
  • Attention to detail and good personal standards.
  • A good knowledge of trends of pastry services within hotels and restaurants.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Maltese and English.
  • Readiness to work flexible hours.

Room Attendants

Dolmen hotel is looking to recruit full-time Room Attendants to be responsible for the general cleaning of the guest rooms in line with the hotel’s cleaning standards.

Forming part of the Housekeeping department, the selected candidates will ensure that all assigned areas are maintained clean at all times to ensure guests’ satisfaction.

Other duties include:

  • Greet guests in a polite manner and respond efficiently to requests.
  • Ensure that assigned rooms are clean and fully stocked.
  • Report any complaints to the Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the cleaning of other areas within the hotel as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Compile the task sheet in line with the hotel’s requirements and provide a thorough handover at the end of the shift.


In order to be shortlisted, candidates should be:

  • Willing to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Committed to provide an excellent service to guests.
  • Willing to attend training on operational and safety procedures as required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.

Personal Assistant to the General Manager

Dolmen Hotel is seeking to employ a highly organized, reliable and motivated Personal Assistant on a full-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager, the selected candidate will perform a variety of administrative duties.

Main responsibilities include: 

  • General office duties such as filing, scanning, distributing correspondence; responding to emails and phone calls and directing where necessary.
  • Manage the General Manager’s diary and organize appointments, meetings and events.
  • Attend Management meetings, take minutes and compile reports as required.
  • Liaise with both internal and external parties; handle the necessary logistics when co-ordinating projects and any arising enquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents and represent the hotel when required.
  • Manage a variety of tasks simultaneously, keep track of progress and follow up as necessary to see through execution.
  • Perform tasks as directed by the General Manager, providing regular updates and reminders on deadlines.


Requirements: 

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • ‘A’ level standard of Education.
  • Good customer service skills and able to communicate effectively across different levels within the company .
  • Familiar with MS Office applications and MS Outlook.
  • High level of integrity and able to exercise discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Good time management skills and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong communication skills in Maltese and English, both verbal and written.

Certification in secretarial and/or administration duties will be considered an asset.
